1 in 5 leading retailers now fully embracing ecommerce with GForces.
Following encouraging ecommerce-driven sales successes during December 2019, GForces warns that embracing omnichannel ecommerce must be a priority for dealers wanting to remain competitive in 2020. The data also shows that a significant proportion of the top 200 dealers are not just GForces clients, but embracing online vehicle sales.
20% of top 200 dealers use a GForces ecommerce solution
One-in-five of the top 200 dealers now subscribes to a GForces ecommerce platform. With a 24/7 sales presence, they’re therefore ready to capitalise on the growing consumer appetite for purchasing vehicles online.
110 vehicles sold in the “quietest week of the year”
Over a six day period often considered the quietest week of the year by retailers, (December 20th – 26th), there were 110 transactions made through GForces’ Auto-e platform. Of these sales, 56% of these were completed via mobile and 50% took place out of hours. 15 retailers in particular saw sales between Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
“At a time of year when many physical dealerships were closed or operating reduced opening hours, NetDirector® Auto-e enabled numerous transactions,” explains Paul Stokes, Head of Online Retailing for GForces. “And, for the period between December 20th and December 26th, some of our clients saw activity that accounted for a third of their sales for the entire month.”
“This is the kind of omnichannel presence NetDirector® Auto-e delivers for retailers. It keeps options open to customers when a physical location may be closed. It’s a business model that supports the changing needs of consumers – an online vehicle sales platform would be irrelevant if there wasn’t consumer appetite for it.”
Ecommerce growth expected to increase over 2020 as retailers “catch up” with peers
“However, instead, these customers sought their next vehicle purchase from the comfort of their own home, most likely browsing on a mobile, at a time that suited them. Being able to provide that purchase path means those retailers within the top 200 that have adopted ecommerce through GForces, have a distinct advantage over those yet to do so.
NetDirector® Auto-e launched in early 2019, and is now driving the growth in ecommerce for leading retailers in the UK and around the world.”
