I’m pleased to share on behalf of GForces, the announcement of our official partnership with the UK’s leading cancer support charity. It marks a dedicated commitment to Macmillan Cancer Support over the next two years.
Macmillan provides medical, emotional, financial, and practical help for cancer patients. From specialist nurses to grants for patients facing financial difficulty, they provide one to one care to thousands of people across the UK every single day.

In the run up to the announcement, I met with Owain Rees, Regional Fundraising Manager at Macmillan, who expressed the importance of raising both awareness and funding over the next few years.
“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with GForces over the next two years, which presents a fantastic opportunity to both increase awareness of cancer and raise money to support Macmillan services across the UK. Our work is funded almost entirely by donations, so we simply can’t support the growing number of people who need us without their help.
It’s estimated that within our lifetime, one in two people will be diagnosed with the disease, and it’s a privilege to have GForces helping us respond to this increasing demand.”
Giles Smith, our Chief Executive Officer, also reminded me that the support will be incredibly important to many of us at GForces.
“Someone is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes in the UK. With one in two people being impacted by the disease, and as a company that employs nearly 250 people, we’ve seen family, friends, and colleagues all affected. By naming Macmillan as our official charity, we are standing together and committing our combined resources to fighting cancer and fundraising for this incredible charity.”
If you have concerns or questions about cancer, I want to encourage you to contact the Macmillan Support Line. It offers confidential support, seven days a week, 8am-8pm, and you can call free on 0808 808 00 00.
I look forward to sharing the adventures and fundraising exploits we take on for Macmillan over the coming months and throughout our partnership with our official charity.
